 Coaching
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between
coaching and mentoring sessions?
A: The difference lies primarily in your perception of the two words.
Some people like to say they have a mentor, while others like to say they are being
coached. Technically, mentors tend to act more as advisors, while coaches tend to offer
instruction. I do both, depending on which mode best serves my client in any given
situation.
Q: How does the process work?
A: I begin by asking you a series of questions to help me get a feel
for where you are now and what you want to accomplish. Then I gently probe into your
life, asking questions, responding to what you say, sharing my observations, guiding you
to explore your thinking and perceptions, offering guidance or suggesting exercises or
activities to help you better understand who you are being, what you want and how to get
it. I dont follow any set structure or format because I customize the process
for each person.
Q: How long does it take?
A: It depends on the frequency of contact you prefer and what you desire
to accomplish. It's difficult to predict how long it will take. I've noticed that the
first month or two is the most intense, followed by a winding down phase, but you will
know when it is time to move into a maintenance phase or to end the sessions
entirely. Afterall, the whole point of these sessions is to help you become
self-empowered and self-reliant.
Q: How much of a commitment must I
make?
A: The only commitment I require is a commitment to open your mind
and a desire to have a better life.
Q: How will I know if its
working?
A: If the quality of your life improves and you feel better about
yourself, its working.
Q: Can I stop the sessions at any time?
A: Yes. Its entirely up to you. If you are on a pre-payment plan, I
will refund any unused portion.
Q: How do I get started?
A: Send an email
to me or call (925) 363-9724.
